Last year Candace and I ventured together on a journey that helped us get a fresh start on a look that we wanted for ourselves. In the beginning, I didn't really want to do it alone and so I drug her along with me to lose a lot of weight. It was difficult in the beginning but we began to feel good about ourselves and where we were going. Long story short....we are both looking at different avenues of becoming healthy in our lives. From reading her blog; she is doing amazingly well.
I got a report back from the doctor telling me that my borderline case of osteoporosis took a change for the worse. Plus I have an intense reaction to florescent and halogen lights. I had been going to different professional people to see if they could figure out the why to it all.
This year I decided that I was going to go out on a limb and try to heal myself rather than paying hundreds of dollars to people who were trying to help but wasn't making a big difference. Each day is an adventure of what to eat. I got a couple of books and found that we should be looking at what is in the product we buy. Like for example is it something easy for my body to breakdown or does it have artificial substances in it that may be hard for my digestive process. What I had been doing with the diet we were on was counting the calories; carbs; proteins...but now I still look at it but I look to see what is in the product I am eating.
This may sound disgusting to the average person; I had this for breakfast and it amazingly got me through the whole morning without feeling hungry. I took my Vita-Mix and put 3 cups of strawberries; 1 cup alfalfa sprouts; 1 medium beet; 2 T agava; 1 head of romaine lettuce and blended it up fine. It is called the 'Power Soup'. It says to drink for a snack or 10 to 15 minutes before you eat a meal. For my appetizer for lunch I took a romaine leaf and put organic peanut butter and agava on it and rolled it up and ate it. Dad said it tasted better than he thought. I knew I was going to like it because years ago I would eat PBJ with lettuce.
Last but not least I made it to 5 miles on my elliptical machine. I have never done that before. It felt pretty fantastic.

Lettuce and PBJ?! I'm not sure I'd go for that! I'm glad you like it though! Good luck on your quest!
